On December 12, 2017, the El Dorado County Board of Supervisors passed and adopted an early expiration to Proposition 90.
Proposition 90 allows homebuyers over the age of 55 to transfer the Proposition 13 value from their previous residence to a primary residence of equal or lesser value in a Proposition 90-enacted county.
Proposition 90 in El Dorado County had been scheduled to expire on October 1, 2021. It is now set to expire on November 7, 2018.
This applies to replacement dwellings in El Dorado County which are purchased or newly constructed on or after the effective date, with “purchased” to include properties in escrow at the time of the effective date. Retroactivity will not be permitted.
